But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ
and manifests through us the odor of the knowledge of him in every place.

Our Lady of the Cape (Ottawa)

A Tour – In Fact, a Pilgrimage…

While the present situation of limits due to the pandemic has made travel difficult, if not impossible, for many, it is still possible to join in significant numbers with other pilgrims to visit in a real, if virtual, manner numerous Shrines across North America that are dedicated to the honor of Our Blessed Lady. Our Shrine of Our Lady of the Island is one of several centers of Marian devotion and pilgrimage that is opening its virtual doors to pilgrims during the Triumph Tour which begins on Tuesday, September 29 and runs through Thursday, October 20. This is a marvelous opportunity to become familiar with the spirituality, prayer and beauty of quite a few Sanctuaries – some of which are located at a considerable distance from us. It is also a marvelous moment to re-focus our own spiritual pilgrimage in union with Our Lady as we allow her to lead us more fully into the grave-filled Heart of her Son.

…Toward the Triumph of the Reign of Christ in our Lives

Christ is the goal of our spiritual pilgrimage and, as St. Louis Marie de Montfort so beautifully reminds us, following the example of Christ’s own journey to us and making our pilgrimage in union with Our Lady is the sure and certain way of reaching that goal – “It is through the Most Holy Virgin Mary that Jesus Christ has come into the world, and it is also through her that he must reign in the world.”

An Ongoing Tour, and Abiding Triumph

Our participation in the Triumph Tour allowed us to share both our prayer and our Shrine grounds with participants from across North America. One of the ways that this was accomplished was by means of the following video which features our praying the Rosary at several prominent locations on the Shrine property in a way that includes meditations related to each location and to the importance of pilgrimage in Christian Life:

Our full program, which includes the Rosary, from October 13 was saved in video form as well:
